OUR PARTNERSHIPS
Community Engagement
“We encourage and foster a vibrant community which actively engages with the wider Wanaka region.”
Our partnerships
Our local partnerships allow Aspiring Village to support some of the clubs, groups and charities that make Wanaka such an enjoyable place to live.
These friendly connections also provide opportunities for residents new to the area to become truly one of the locals.

Aspiring Artist in Residence
Rakuto Kurano from the University of Canterbury is the current Aspiring Village Resident Artist. While working on his Master of Music thesis, Rakuto shares his musical passions with the Aspiring Village residents and the wider Wanaka community. Forming a local string quartet, giving open master-classes, composing and recording a solo violin piece about Ruby Island are just a selection of Rakuto’s recent accomplishments.
Wanaka Golf Club
It’s not a chore to establish good relationships with your neighbours when they are one of the world’s most stunning golf courses.
A good number of our residents are members at this beautiful course and Aspiring Village is proud to sponsor Women’s Day Tuesdays, Men’s Day Wednesdays, and the Wanaka September Tournament.

Wanaka Bowling Club
Aspiring Village are proud sponsors of this busy bowling club and many of our residents are members.
Festival of Colour
Aspiring Village are proud sponsors of the Wānaka Festival of Colour, the flagship arts event for the Southern Lakes region.
Set against the autumn colours of the Upper Clutha Basin, the week-long festival offers a rich and diverse programme, celebrating the very best of the arts world. Many Aspiring Village residents attend and volunteer at the festival events.

Wanaka A&P Show
The Wanaka Show is one of the biggest and best in the country. We host a tent every year and enjoy hosting residents and friends.

Mt Aspiring College
Mount Aspiring College students regularly volunteer at our village events. This is a very rewarding partnership and we love having young people helping out at village events.
