A new chapter for our Wanaka retirement village: the Bowling Green is open
On June 12th, residents at Aspiring Village gathered to celebrate the grand opening of our brand-new Bowling Green, a vibrant new addition to our Wanaka retirement village that’s already bringing people together.
The event was marked by a joyful atmosphere, with mulled wine in hand, a delicious spread of nibbles, and heartfelt speeches from some of our most cherished residents. The ribbon was officially cut by Henry Thayer, one of our most inspiring community members, a 100-year-old bowling enthusiast who has played a pivotal role in championing the sport within the village.
The new green is more than just a sports facility. It’s a testament to the sense of community, well-being and active lifestyle that defines life at Aspiring Village. Our residents have already formed their own village bowls association, managing the green themselves and organising regular meetups, games and social sessions.
