There’s something special about the sound of paws padding along a pathway, a friendly wag of a tail at morning tea, or a familiar furry face waiting patiently outside the Lifestyle Centre. At our village, dogs aren’t just pets – they’re part of the community.
Recently, we had the pleasure of capturing seven of our much-loved village dogs in a special photoshoot. Each one has their own personality, routine, and fan club! From the social butterflies who make their daily rounds for pats and treats, to the gentle companions who rarely leave their owner’s side, these dogs bring warmth, connection, and joy to everyday life.
Research shows that dogs can have a powerful impact on wellbeing and they play such a big role – reducing stress, encouraging gentle exercise, and creating natural opportunities for conversation. But beyond the science, anyone who has experienced the unconditional love of a dog knows the simple truth: they make life better.
In our village, the dogs who already call this place home are treasured members of the community. Residents are very welcome to bring their much-loved dog with them when they move into the village. To help maintain a balanced and comfortable environment for everyone, we don’t introduce new dogs once residents are settled into village life.
To our seven featured pups (and their proud owners): thank you for the joy you bring. You remind us daily that community comes in many forms – sometimes with four legs and a wagging tail.
Because here in the village, it’s not just people who make it feel like home!
