Aspiring Care is entering an exciting new chapter in its commitment to exceptional aged care in the Central Otago region. From 1 August 2025, Aspiring Village (AV) will transition to independently manage Aspiring Care, as the highly successful 10-year partnership with Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) comes to a close.
While this marks the conclusion of a deeply valued collaboration, both AV and PSO reflect with pride on what has been built together. Over the past decade, the partnership has established a highly regarded care home known for its professional excellence, strong community connections, and heartfelt care.
“PSO’s dedication to resident wellbeing, the calibre of its staff, and the values brought to this partnership have helped shape Aspiring Care into what it is today,” said James Reid, Chairman, Aspiring Village. He added “we are thrilled to add Aspiring Care to our offering at Aspiring Village. Supported living and care rooms are crucial to enabling our residents to stay in the Wanaka region and receive the level of care they need at every stage. We are dedicated to continuing the great level of care provided by PSO and delighted to work alongside the wonderful staff team.”
For PSO, the transition is both a moment of reflection and of celebration. “We are immensely proud of the standard of care, community trust, and warmth that defines Aspiring Care.” said Robbie Moginie, CEO, Presbyterian Support Otago.
There will be no changes to the team or care that residents and families know and trust. The same experienced staff will remain in place, ensuring continuity of relationships, routines, and the high-quality care that the community expects.
AV and PSO will continue to work closely together over the coming months to ensure a smooth, thoughtful transition, focused on providing stability and confidence for residents, families, and staff alike.
Aspiring Village is currently home to 182 residents, with 140 independent-living villas and apartments, 24 serviced apartments (Pembroke Apartments), 52 care rooms (Aspiring Care) including a palliative care suite operated by the Upper Clutha Hospice Trust and two after-hours acute care rooms operated by Central Otago Health Services.
